To my knowledge, no unofficial APIs for Chromecast can play Youtube videos like the app does. However, streaming local media still works. The current solution is to pipe the video from youtube-dl: youtube-dl -o - https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ | castnow - This specific workaround uses youtube-dl and castnow.
